Dr. Ruprecht joined the College of Dentistry in 1987 after having taught at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), University of Saskatchewan (Canada), King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), and Phipps University of Marburg (West Germany). Dr. Ruprecht is also a professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University.
Dr. Ruprecht's teaching responsibilities include radiology to freshman, sophomore, junior and senior dental students, and residents in various specialties.
His clinical activities include radiologic interpretation for College of Dentistry patients and for Head and Neck Radiology patients at the UI Hospitals and Clinics and for outside referrals of patients or radiographs from multiple offices.
Research activities involve the radiologic prevalence of anatomic and pathologic entities 2D and #D digital imaging.
Dr. Ruprecht is a member and chair of the Standing Committee on Constitution and By-Laws of the Canadian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology; a consultant to the Iowa Dental Association; the first commissioner for Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology of the Commission on Dental Accreditation; and chair of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Review Committee of the Commission. He is also an examiner in oral radiology of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Ruprecht is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, the American College of Radiology/Iowa Radiological Society, the American/Iowa Dental Association, the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, the Canadian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, the Ontario Society of Oral Radiologists, the Radiological Society of North America, the International Association of Dento Maxillo Facial Radiology, the Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and Xi Psi Phi Dental Fraternity.
