Dr. Spieker was in private practice from 1984-2002 and was also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Western Ontario. In 2002, she joined the College of Dentistry as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine.
Dr. Spieker is a clinical instructor in the Oral Diagnosis Clinic. She also participates in treatment planning, ethics and quality assurance seminars.
Dr. Spieker sees general dentistry patients one and one-half days per week.
Dr. Spieker is interested in submerged permanent teeth and more specifically, would like to explore the success of interceptive treatment.
Dr. Spieker is a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Canadian Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Academy of General Dentistry. She also served as an on-site quality assurance reviewer for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons from 1997-2002.
