Dr. Morgan joined the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2001. She is currently an associate professor.
Dr. Morgan practices a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, dental implant surgery, treatment of pathology and reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, nerve repair, and facial trauma. She practices not only at the College of Dentistry but also at Hawkeye Oral Surgery and the VA Hospital. Her clinical specialties include dentaoalveolar surgery, including extraction of teeth and wisdom teeth; dental implants; orthognathic surgery; pathology and reconstruction; nerve injury and
repair; and facial trauma.
Dr. Morgan's areas of research include nerve injury and repair, neuropathic pain, odontogenic keratocysts, anticoagulation chronic TMJ dislocation, and treatment of alveolar osteitis.

Dr. Morgan was a member of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Examination Committee (2008-2010), a member of the OMSSAT Committee (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Self-Assessment Section, 2006-2009), has been a member of the Commission on Dental Accreditation for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (program site examiner) since 2004, and has been a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Task Force on Priorities since 2005. She is a reviewer for Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontics. She is a member of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Johnson County Dental Society, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Iowa Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
